Purpose for Appointed Time Ministry

Now is the “appointed time” to “minister” to Zion by showing her favor in whatever ways that we are able.  I felt that the Lord spoke to me recently from Psalm 102:13, “You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.  The Hebrew word “moed” which is here translated “appointed time” carries the sense of a set predetermined time of God’s choosing.  In context this appears to be an end-time prophecy.  Now I do not pretend to know exactly where we are on God’s timetable, but I do know that I sensed the Lord saying that this “appointed time” period had begun.  It is NOW the time to favor Zion.

My hope is that this website will be one tool that the Lord uses to stimulate more people to begin to do this.  Which leads us to the question – "What does it mean to favor Zion?"  In simplest terms it means to have God’s heart for the nation of Israel – the people and the land itself.   Through Abraham, God has blessed the whole earth in Messiah Yeshua and he requires that we return blessing to the descendants of Abraham. The incentive for this is quite large as the Lord promises to keep blessing us in return!   Blessing or favor can take many forms.

Prayer of course is a primary way of blessing – “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” we are exhorted in Psalm 122.  Providing prayers for the many areas of concern over the land and people of Israel is a primary purpose of this website.  By using the prayers on this website even those unfamiliar with prayer for Israel can quickly enter into scriptural prayer as the Lord commands.

Physical and financial support for various ministries in the land of Israel.  Many of these offer help with food, clothing and shelter for the many poor immigrants and others needing assistance.  Some ministries help Jewish emigrants in the process of relocating to Israel from Russia and other places in the world. Those of us who are Gentiles are privileged to contribute to helping the poor in Israel, as Paul reminds us, “For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.” (Rom. 15:27) I will be offering links to other ministries that have undertaken various types of ministry to the people of Israel.  There are many other good ministries as well I am sure that I will not be aware of.  Let the Holy Spirit be your guide, but I do encourage you to give in some way to the blessing of Israel.

Be advocates for the nation of Israel with our government representatives.  We can let them know that we stand behind Israel and desire our government to do the same.  We cannot afford to be less vocal than those who would oppose her. I’m sure you can think of other ways of favoring Israel, but the important thing is that we do it – beginning with daily prayer.  (See our prayer section.)

May shalom return to you as you pray for the shalom of Jerusalem!
